The type 38 is the first true monocoque Lotus and it looks very snazzy with its yellow stripe design and yellow exhausts. Team Lotus shook up the Indy establishment with its presence at the 1963 and 1964 events. The Team's experience combined with this great car finally produced the expected result with a dominant win in 1965. This achievement is so impressive. Colin Chapman and his small team of five mechanics travelled to America in the sixties to try and win the world's greatest race. They did it in real style with Jim Clark blowing everyone away. Classic Team Lotus is pleased to offer the model at a price of £100 plus P & P. The quality is excellent. The detail is spectacular and includes a fully detailed cockpit and removable engine cowlings with full engine detail. Included with model is a copy of the original 1965 Press Release. In their famous "Lucky Strike" colours they won the 1971, 1972 and 1973 South African Drivers Championship. The successful driver in each of those years was Dave Charlton who in 1972 also raced in three Grand Prix using number 29.
