 | Lotus Type 72 G/A Drawing (Reference #NP1Q42005)
Our technical drawings are normally only used for the production of spare parts, but among our vast collection of drawings are some real gems and this is one of the very best.Originally drawn by Maurice Phillippe in February 1970 and subsequently updated by him in October 1970 and again in November 1972. Each time the Type 72 won a Grand Prix a win decal was put on the rear wing. These have been added to the drawing to celebrate the 20 wins, from the first at the 1970 Dutch GP to the last at the 1974 Italian GP.

G.A. drawings were not created for every car because, frankly, they took a lot of time and were not particularly useful. But they look great! Particularly the type 49 that captures the elegant simplicity of this wonderful car. The condition of the original made good quality reproduction impractical. The 1970 Monaco Grand Prix produced one of the most dramatic finishes in the history of formula one. With 20 laps to go Jack Brabham had a lead of 14 seconds over Jochen Rindt. But Jochen reduced the deficit and started the final lap right behind Jack who made a mistake on the last corner of the last lap and Jochen took the win. Portrait of Colin Chapman (Reference #NPQ32001)
Classic Team Lotus is proud to present this wonderful portrait of Colin Chapman. It is by French artist Patrick Brunet and is printed on lovely parchment paper. The quality is of the highest standard. Patrick created a limited edition of 250. We like the picture so much we have made an arrangement to sell it on an exclusive basis.The images are very evocative of Colin Chapman's spirit and his special friendship with Jim Clark. The text, in English and French (very euro . . ), reads "A perfectly developed form, free at last from its 'strait jacket'. It seems that perfection is reached not when there is nothing more to add but when there is nothing more to take away . . . the machine is concealed when it is fully developed". A very appropriate passage from "Terre des Hommes" by A de St Exupery. We think this Lithographie 'Colin Chapman Lotus XXV', as titled by Monsieur Brunet, is very special.
